Treasure the moments!

We waste so much time dwelling on trivialities like language, color, tribe, family and status to the point where we forget that at the end of this life, all that matters is who we love,  who loves us and how much difference we made in their lives. Time waits for no one and when wasted cannot be recovered. So celebrate the people who mean something to you. Let them know how much you care. Don't wait till later. Likewise, move above what makes us different and focus on what connects us. Today, my question is "are you making every moment you have with your friends count?"

TIME

One of the most precious commodities and treasures in this world is TIME! Our lives are measured in time and hence time is life. Everyone invests their most precious commodity in what is most important to them. Simply put, the best test of true love is the investment of time.
If he/she loves you, they will invest their time in you. If you love them, you will make time for them too. Not just quality time, but quantity too.  Today let me ask you another question; Looking at how you invest your time, is that relationship truly important to you?

Choices!

Most of the time, we make choices based on "our type" instead of our destiny. We have been subconsciously conditioned by the world to adapt to its preferences and definition of people. We then tend to make our choice of a life partner based on " who we think we want" instead of "who we need" on our journey to fulfilling our destinies. This morning I ask you a very hard yet simple question; Are you choosing " your type" or your " destiny partner"?

GET BETTER!

Trust you are anticipating the weekend. Good! Today is the 2nd of October and that means there are 91 more days to the end of the year. Does 91 days ring a bell? Well, those who invest in treasuries know exactly what 91 days can add to their invested money. Currently it is about 5.25% of your principal. So why share this information? Simple. What if we decided to improve all areas of our lives by 5.25% by the end of the year? Better health, better finances, more maturity, increased skill and knowledge etc. Isn't this an Interesting thought. Try it. What is there to lose? Let's go!!! Enjoy your weekend.

LOVING MONDAYS

It is another new week. Yes! and it is a Monday. Of course I know that. Most people dread Mondays perhaps because it signifies the end of the weekend and the begining of yet another working week. But why do we expect and often experience a hectic day almost all the time? I'm not sure what your reasons are but permit me to suggest a reason and then submit a revolutionary solution. I think we experience stress because we are too focussed on the difficulties and on ourselves not on the opportunities and others. My suggestion? Celebrate the good things of life. Focus on how you can make your home, community, work place and even the bus you sit in a happier place. Focus on life, peace and the blessing of employment. Instead of stress, focus on service. Change the way you normally do things to create a new or different experience. It is a new day, enjoy it.
* I would love to hear from you, so let's chat.

TIME CHECK!

TIME CHECK!
Yippee, today is the 1st of the 9th month of the 15th year of the 21st century. Wow. Isn't it interesting? Suddenly we have only 92 days to the end of 2015. Yes! Do you realize you have spent 273 days already? 😳! Let me ask you these very somewhat uncomfortable questions:
1. What new skill have you learnt this year?
2. How many books have you read?
3. How many multiple sources of income have you created
4. How many goals have you achieved so far?
5. What difference have you made on this earth so far?
Friend, time is not waiting for anyone. No sir! We are already in the last quarter and there is still so much you can do. If God created the world in seven days, just think how much, you as His child, can do in 90 days. It is not too late to turn 2015 around. Even if you have exceeded your targets, set new ones. You still got capacity. Let's make this a wonderful year. Pick up that business plan again. Go back to classes. Open that shop again. Whatever you do, just make sure you try one more time. Make it a September to Remember! God bless your efforts and see you at the top.

SHOW ME YOUR FRIEND

Magnificent Monday!
Beloved, your transformation will be largely influenced by your associations!
You cannot have proximity with people and not experience influence. It is essential to remember that, eventually, you become the product of the five people closest to you. In effect, the people you keep around you predict the person you will become. It makes sense then for the wise man to say in Proverbs 13:20 that;
Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

Have you noticed that most poor people have poor friends and vice versa? Unfortunately, misery likes company and hence the status quo continues.
Friend, never underestimate the influence of the company you keep. If you desire a brighter future, associate yourself with people who are already there or are clearly focussed on getting there.
Don't be sidetracked by public opinion or mediocre expectation. Set yourself apart and become great.

CELEBRATED NOT JUST TOLERATED

Today I woke up with the answer to one of the very worrying questions I have been asking for while.
" Why do some people completely trivialize or disrespect other people and their gifts?
The answer was so very simple and precise it left me in awe.
It is simply this; You have not been called to everyone or to every situation. Do not keep casting your pearls before those who are not meant to appreciate you. In fact do not bother to explain, appeal to or convince them. They are not in the realm of your assignment. So what is the next move?
Walk away from them. Stop calling, texting and trying to catch their attention. Just move on and go find your constituency. Leave the place of tolerance and find your place of celebration.
It will help you to stop worrying and wondering why. That is the only place you can thrive and grow.
I have come to realize that, untill you find your place of celebration, your gift will not shine.
Seek your place and minister your gift. Have a great week.

IT IS STILL GOOD!

Sometimes our present conditions or even past experiences create in us a pessimistic outlook to life. We reason that, the future will be an exact or perhaps a similar picture of the past and present. We sometimes find it difficult to look beyond the pain, worry and difficulties. However, the word of God consistently assures us of a brighter tomorrow and a better future. It is easy to believe this because in the begining when God created everything in its untainted purity, he pronounced it is good. This same God is promising you that, your future will be good. He is the God that changeth not and His promises are true and Amen. He assures us with this ;

Isaiah 43:2
"2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."

He is closer than a brother and better than seven sons.
Rest assured in His word. Listen to this too;
Romans 8:28
28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
His purpose is to bring you to an expected end. He is a good God and your future will be a good one.

JUST DO IT!

JUST DO IT!
The worst enemy of success is not failure, that is unavoidable. The worst enemy of success is the fear of failure. Just like any great musician, if you are not ready to pick up the microphone, you will never know if you can sing the song. Without breaking a few eggs, you most certainly cannot prepare the omelette. Failure is not a bad thing. In fact you should desire to fail fast in order to reach success in the shortest possible time. The lessons failing teach you will become the building blocks with which you will build your success story. Unfortunately, many people are so paralyzed by the fear of failure that, they do not even dare to try.
There is no guarantee that you will hit a target anytime you shoot at it. Hunters and archers know this but they also know that, there is a 50% chance of hitting every time they shoot. They also know that, if you do not shoot at all, you have a 100% chance of failure.
Most of the time, all you need to overcome the innertia or resistance of this fear is to step up and take a chance. No overthinking or over analysing. As long as there is no risk to life or health, do not waste any more time. Step up, step out and just do it.
To quote a piece of wisdom from Marianne Williamson, our worst fear is not that we are inadequate, our worst fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
Get up, break the chains of fear and make your mark.

Mind your MIND!

Imagine someone bursts into your living room early in the morning carrying a bin full of refuse and dump them on your woolen carpet. What would you do to that person? Well, your guess is as good as mine and I'm pretty sure, this person might end up in jail or on admission at the hospital. Unfortunately we allow people to dump "refuse" in our minds almost everyday and we do nothing about it. Through television programs, radio, smart phones and the internet, we give total access to all manner of content to find accommodation in our minds without any deliberate effort to filter or monitor. Pessimistic, coarse, uncouth and even blasphemous words, music, pictures, videos and shows are given unrestricted access to our minds and by extension our lives.
The mind is the factory of our future. It is the place where the seeds of thought are generated. Our thoughts determine our decisions, our decisions produces our actions and our actions create our future. If we are careful to provide security for our homes and offices, why should we leave our minds without protection. Protect your mind by being thoroughly selective and circumspect in the content you allow to enter your mind. Guard it with all your heart. Remember, whatsoever a man thinketh, that he is.

COLOR BLIND, NOT COLORLESS

COLOR BLIND NOT COLORLESS!
I believe that, one of the biggest challenges in the church at the moment is our misunderstanding of what unity is about.
We are so worried about disunity that, we try to overcompensate by making everyone behave as the same people. But we are not.
Fortunately.
God is so dynamic that, he even makes every single snowflake unique from each other.
We are beautifully made different for a purpose;
TO MAKE THE VIRTUE OF LOVE RELEVANT!.
It is quite easy to love yourself. However, love is truly tested when you have to love someone who is completely different from you.
We are supposed to be color blind, but not colorless. Meaning, we should embrace our differences and yet synergize them to the point where they almost don't exist anymore.
God made different races. Should we recognize our differences? Yes!
What should we do with it? Use it. We are from different tribes with unique mannerisms for the sole purpose of variety and beauty. Let's recognize and utilize these specific gifts for specific tasks whiles maintaining the inderlining fact that, in Christ, there is neither Jew nor Greek.
Let's not fear our differences to the point of trying to make every one as the same as possible. It defeats God's original intent of " let every nation and every tribe" . We are the same spirit, manifested in different forms and shapes, colors and races. Be proud to be YOU! Unique and one of a kind. Relevant and essential.
God bless you for your audience.

LAUGH AT YOURSELF

Somewhere last year, when doctors went on strike over unpaid allowances, lots of Ghanaians, educated and uneducated, rich and poor and even some young people on this platform took up arms, lambasted and castigated and even insulted all health workers with very unsavory terms. Now, today, doctors have not been paid for 11 months, they have to picket and cue up at the finance ministry all day, to be heard and yet these same freedom fighters who were very loud last year are now suffering from temporary deafness and dumbness.

To these people, I say, SHAME ON YOU!

You have demonstrated the fullest extent of your hypocrisy. When it affected you, it was unfair, inhumane and unacceptable. Now it doesn't so it is not worth pursuing. Laugh at yourself. A nation that does not care for its citizens, will rue the day, its citizens abandon it. Laugh at yourself, because if you allow the flood waters to take your neighbor, don't forget it is coming for you too. Laugh at yourself, our nation is only surviving on its last breaths and we are sitting down, staring. Laugh at yourself, no one will come and save us, we better do it ourselves.

But stop laughing at yourself, get up and fight for justice and equity. Get up and get to work. Ghana can only be saved by Ghanaians. The choice is still ours.

I HAVE A DREAM

There is a nation that treats its citizens with impunity. Where leaders publicly declare and boast of their new abilities to be completely unmoved by the plight of its people. Where medical officers who are expected to make life and death decisions 24 hrs a day are left unpaid for 11 months and almost every supposed social freedom and human rights fighter is completely silent but will immediately find their voices and spew lots of crap ( forgive my french) as soon as these medical officers go on strike. Where public institutions can declare the amount of money they have squandered or wasted with a straight face completely unashamed because they are affiliated to the sitting government. A nation where electricity and water are no more basic amenities but special privileges and rare opportunities.

But i see a people who are ready to turn this particular nation around. People who are burdened with the very plight of the land and are genuinely passionate about seeing a positive change. People who will not be bought with money and political favors but will be energized by the true spirit of patriotism not a superficial confession of affiliation to a confused ideology.
A new breed of young leaders, business people, students, workers, technicians, artisans, entertainers, spiritual leaders and public servants who live, breathe, sleep and think about this nation and how it can rise from the doldrums of mediocrity, nepotism, corruption and impoverishment.
A new group of people who are not bothered about titles but focused on results. A people who will stand and declare, even in the face of opposition and passivity, that we will impact our generation with all we have whether we are publicly acknowledged or not.

I also have a dream, but i refuse to leave it as a dream. I call on this new breed of young leaders to wake up from their slumber, shake off the dust of mediocrity and apathy and pick up their tools.
We cannot allow this nation to continue on its free fall. Remember, we are the purported future leaders who will eventually have to take responsibility for whatever is left of this nation.
So what will it be? The choice is ours to make.
