WORSHIP SERIES SEASON 1: episode 1.

GIVE ME TO DRINK.

It was a sunny day, and the woman trudged wearily under the sweltering heat of the midday sun. She was coming from the countryside carrying her pot to fetch water from Jacob’s well. She wouldn’t come in the late afternoon or morning because then she will have to listen to the lewd and snotty remarks of the other women and their children. Yes, she knew she wasn’t the most liked individual in Samaria but although there were a lot of people in the town with checkered pasts, they chose to pick on her every time.

Perhaps if she came to the well in the afternoon, then nobody will be there to bother her. As she waddled wearily under the blazing sun towards the well, she was surprised to see a man sitting by the well. By the nature of his apparel and the manner of his appearance, one could easily see he was a Jew.

What does a Jew want at this well? She thought. As she came closer, she could see the man was very tired and worn out. Well I would just fetch the water and be on my way. I don’t have to talk to him. As she bent down to draw the water from the well, the stranger spoke; Give me to drink.

What? She asked shocked. How do you, being a Jew, ask a drink of me, a woman of Samaria.

The stranger answered and said to her, if you knew the gift of God, and who it is that says to you, Give Me to drink, you would have asked of Him, and He would have given you living water. ……

You see, the woman at the well was fed up and tired with life and love. She had had five husbands and was even then staying with a man who wasn’t her husband. She had been given a raw deal in life, handed a bad check by circumstances. On that day, all she wanted was a pot of water from Jacob’s well to quench her thirst and do a few chores, but when she met the Savior she received rest from her weariness, calmness for her turmoil, serenity for worry, beauty for ashes and strength for weakness.

She was given courage for fear, gladness for mourning and peace for despair.

What is your burden? How bad do you think your sins are? Do you think you are too far away from God to be saved? Are you sure his love is not enough to provide restoration?

Perhaps like the woman at the well, you are seeking for things that cannot satisfy. You might be religious and proud of your heritage as a member of a Christian family or a big church. That is all good, but let me ask you this. Do you feel that deep down there is something missing? Maybe you’ve had various affairs with so many things, put your trust in many others and have consistently been treated with inconsistency. You may have lost all hope or about to. However I present to you the one who gives living water.

He is the only one who knows your past and still loves you. He is the one that knows your situation and still offers forgiveness and restoration with no prejudice. All he asks is for you to offer him a drink. Invite him into your situation right now. Wherever you are reading this, the Holy Spirit is around you. The master wants to fill you with so much joy and peace. A peace that lasts forever. Joy that will cause you to go telling others to come and see the promise keeper, the pain reliever, the one who gives living water.

I believe in miracles. It happened for me and I know it can happen for you too.

Let’s pray this 5-seconds prayer, it works!

Dear Jesus, I know you love me and died for me. I believe that you are the son of God. Please come into my situation and make it right. I give it all to you. Take me and make me whole. I love you. AMEN.

Let’s meet again another time. I want to hear your testimony. God bless you. May he keep you and never let you fall. Stay blessed.
